Hi everyone,
I'm new to this component and wanted to ask the community if there is any knowledge of how many files the component can successfully manage?
I'm currently using another document-download management system and after a few hundred files it started to slow down and now, into a few thousand documents, it is practically unusable.
Does anyone have experience of this component to manage thousands of files/documents without affecting performance?
Thanks for your time,
C.

Hi, I think this need to be checked on your side... because there is very important the performance of your server (memory, cpu), so every answer of some other user will be not correct
But maybe if someone uses Phoca Download for downloading large count of files, please let us know the expriencies.

Hi Jan,
yes, if someone has experience with large volume that would help me assess the component.
The site sits on a dedicated server with very little else going on so I think the server should be able to manage large volumes. With the current component I'm using I think the performance lag is due to the manner in which it does a check on the file-system to match the db record - there are lots of calls back and forth and no caching so it takes a long time to cycle through all the files and present the list on the page.
