Upgrading from 1.0.1 beta to v1.0.6 beta ???

After searching this forum... Its was suggested that i goto the install and uninstall option in the joomla control panel and just install the new version...

However i tried this and this is what i got as a error message...

* It was not possible to copy the selected file.
* JInstaller::install: Failed to copy file: /var/www/web/tmp/install_4994ddf2e06ac/front/controller.php to /var/www/web/components/com_phocadownload/controller.php

The joomla version that is running is 1.5.3
and Proca Download v1.0.1 beta

Any help would be apreciated.

Hi, it seems like you have some problems with rights or ownnership of the files, do you have enabled FTP layer and did you have enabled FTP layer by the first installation (so both have the same ownership: previous and current installation)?

Thanks for your help... I setup the FTP layer access in the global configuration and then tried to install the component and it all worked after pressing the upgrade button.
