phoca gallery and joomfish, direct translation

Post by webrp »

I can use direct translation for gallery items, but not categories.

What happens: the item is opened but the original content is missing (its empty)

Any suggestion to make it work?

I have just done this, so thought it would be helpful to post the steps here. :)

I am using Joomla 1.5, Joomfish V2.0 (RC) and Phoca Gallery 2.1.0 RC (this is NOT about installing those components, that must be done first of all. You must also have your target language file installed for Joomfish)

Download the Phoca Gallery - Joomfish files https://www.phoca.cz/download/category/1 ... -component

Unzip the files (phocagallery.xml and phocagallery_categories.xml) then FTP them into your administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements folder

In Joomfish, go to Manage Translations and Copy original to language. For Phoca Gallery and Phoca Gallery Categories check the 'copy to language' box. Select the target language and then hit copy.

Then go to Translation, select your target language and the Phoca Gallery or Phoca Gallery Categories content elements and you will see all your images / categories in a list for you to select and translate.

The only problem I noted was that when doing the Manage Translations step, it noted 150 items to copy, then copied 151. On going in to Translation, I got the error Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in ../administrator/components/com_joomfish/contentelements/translationSectionFilter.php on line 64

This warning has not prevented me from doing the translation. :|

Amazing help thanks.

Now I can translate galleries and items.

Is there any way to translate the "tips" on the galleries?

I mean:
Image

How?

Thanks.

Hi, I do not see the file phocagallery_categories.xml in the current version for Gallery.
Am I missing something?

Hi, sorry I don't understand, in Phoca Gallery there is no such file:
phocagallery_categories.xml

you need to see the Joom!fish files for Phoca Gallery.
