Weird Problem

Post by roybut »

Hello,

I've just installed Phoca Download as a repository. It seems to work well except for one thing: when I click the menu link to access the repository I have to click the "up" button to get to the files. I am using two templates on my site with two different menus that link to Phoca Downloads and the error happens with each one (it also causes style errors with one of the templates). I really want to use this component as I've tried Remository and JDownloads but Phoca just seems eaiser to update my files. If I can't work out where this problem is coming from then I will have to use something else so I hope someone knows what's going on.

Thanks.

I have tried this with several templates now and the same problem occurs. Surely someone else has had this problem?

Hi, there is a problem with Itemid and SEF in Joomla!

Itemid = Settings for the link... but if you are e.g. in Category view and wants to go back to Section view and then to Sections view then these links doesn't have own Itemid (only menu links have itemid in Joomla!)
So they need to find some (because of Settings) they look for the first level itemid and it is Sections view. but if there are two links into sections view then there is a problem ... :-( ... because of this problem Phoca Download doesn't have more Menu links (menu link to sections, menu link to section, menu link to category)

So if settins will be for the menu links in Joomla, then in such case there is no solutions for problems with itemid :-(
If you find Phoca extensions useful, please support the project

Hi,

Thanks for the reply.

I found a way around it. I created a menu link to the url of the upper level instead of a link to the component itself. That worked it out. Unfortunately, as you can see from the "Errors" thread, I can now get nothing to work :D

Thanks,

Roy
