Dear Support,
When I turn on standard Joomla SEO via the control panel then Phoca gallery shows a blank page?
1) When I set all three SEO settings on YES then I can get to the category view but when I click a category then I get a 500 error... (with htaccess on)
500 - Not found [name, type, prefix]: 2Foto,html,phocagalleryView
2) If I turn on only the first two SEO settings from Joomla then I get a blank page when clicking on Phoca gallery menu link. (with htaccess on)
1) And if I enable only the first SEO setting then I get a 500 Not found error immediately. (with htaccess on)
So how can I use standard Joomla SEO with Phoca Gallery?
Version Joomla 1.5.8 and Phoca Gallery 2.1.0 RC1
Thank you!!!
When enabeling SEO from joomla phoca gallery, blank page

Re: When enabeling SEO from joomla phoca gallery, blank page
Hi, see your settings or .htaccess ... Links for Phoca Gallery are created by Joomla! framework method JRoute and it works ok, see:
https://www.phoca.cz/phocagallery/demo/ (I don't have mod_rewrite on my hosting but e.g. on my localhost it works with mod_rewrite and .htaccess too)
so try to run SEO without mod_rewrite first ... if it not works maybe some problem with url creating there is (maybe php version ?) do you have enabled mod_rewrite on your server ?

Re: When enabeling SEO from joomla phoca gallery, blank page
I have the same problem on joomla 1.5.7 and phoca 1.0.5.
when url rewrite is on i can no longer download files, It doesn't even show the information details next to download items (description and download link). Even turning mod_rewrite off doesnt help.
I saw on many posts this should work, and it works on your local installation, Jan, but for the love of god, i cannot get it to work.
does installation order matter? First i installed phoca, then i enabled url rewrite. What if i uninstalled phoca and installed again, now that i have url rewrite enabled? would that help?
anyways, im out of ideas, and saw many people with same problem and there is no definite fix. Hope someone finds one soon.
regards

Hi, no, installation order doesn't make and difference... All links in Phoca are created by JRoute method which is a Joomla! method which creates URLs (seo urls too) so there should not be problem. (see: https://www.phoca.cz/documentation - standard seo + standard Joomla! mod rewrite)... Maybe there is some problem on server??? maybe php version ???

Re: When enabeling SEO from joomla phoca gallery, blank page
I see...
i haven't dived into this so i do not know how this works in detail, but simplified... phoca just assembles urls and joomla and apache takes care of rewriting, yes? Well, apache is default installed, php5 also, .htaccess is default, so i don't see a problem here. Do you have any idea what could be wrong with apache2/php5 ?
That being said, here is the link to phoca download file without joomla sef:
index.php?option=com_phocadownload&view=category&id=2:obrazci&download=2:nalog&Itemid=1
and here is the same link with joomla sef enabled:
/component/phocadownload/category/2-obrazci
if you take a close look, sef'ed url is missing "&download=2:nalog&Itemid=1" part.
Why is this? Who is to blame? Joomla, apache2? Any idea greatly appreciated.
Perhaps, could you post your .htaccess file so i can see if i have the same, any maybe relevant apache2 configs. I have mod_rewrite enabled, so i don't know what else is important.
Other than that, great work, Jan, you have done a lot for joomla community and i appreciate it a lot.
thanks

Re: When enabeling SEO from joomla phoca gallery, blank page
???
I am using php5,apache2 and standard mod_rewrite and get:
https://www.phoca.cz/download/category/1 ... ch-cestina
so for me it the link is not cut ????
do you use the CORESEF (default SEF in Joomla!)?

look closely, my joomla cuts off the "?download=3%3Aczech-cestina" part in the link, hence no download.
i have the same default joomla 1.5.7, apache2 and mod_rewrite setup like you. And yes, default SEF from joomla. Would using third party sef component help, like sh404SEF or smartsef (opensef)?

Re: When enabeling SEO from joomla phoca gallery, blank page
Ok, thanks for all your help.
i installed sh404SEF and even if it doesn't work natively with phoca downloads, it has an option to exclude urls from rewriting. Seems the easiest way at the moment.
Thanks again.

Phoca Gallery Not Working With Joomla SEO settings On
When any Joomla SEO Settings are ON, Phoca Gallery doesn't work. I get a error message "404 - Component not found" Joomla SEO settings "ON" works great with everything else in my site. I hope there's a solution because Phoca Gallery is perfect for me in every other way. Any one else have same problem or a possible solution.
I'm using PHP version 5.2.5, Apache version 1.3.37, Joomla 1.5.8
THANKS!
