[Solved] Cannot upload pictures

Post by Mccass »

When uploading a picture from the website interface, I receive a message "Error while saving item."
1. the picture is saved in the media manager
2. in pchoca gallery, i see a empty picture with a round grey circle and a stripe thru
3. if i remove the blank picture, it is deleted and the picture from the media manager too

Phoca Gallery version 4.1.2
Joomla version 3.3.6

Hi,
is the 'Enable Thumbnails Generation' set to 'Yes' in Phoca Gallery Options?

Kind regards,
Benno

Hi Benno,
'Enable Thumbnails Generation' is set to 'Yes'.

In my file manager i see that the pictures are uploaded and saved under owner 'apache', while the map has owner 'DEBxxxx'.
If i create a map the owner is also 'apache' and i CAN upload pictures (with owner 'apache').
In the old Joomla 1.5 site the ownership of maps are 'DEBxxxx' and when i upload a picture its owner is also 'DEBxxxx'.

Kind regards,
Rudy

I just found out it was not a Phoca problem but an ownership problem.
My provider did some "things" and then the ownership was right again.
So problem is solved, thanks for your time
