Automatic Slide Show from Menu Item?

I would like to get one of my galleries to automatically start a slide show when someone clicks on the menu item - full-screen is fine if necessary. Is there a way to do this?

Also, in the menu item, I have "Don't show Subcategories" but it still does. Are there other settings this is dependent on?
