Suspicious registrations at my download store:

Hello Jan and Benno,

I am a little concerned about the security of my download store. More and more registrations are being completed by users who don't order anything. A large number of them are not authorized. The user names have always been created according to the same pattern. For example, one user has the name "KyliebarKB" and the username "Kyliebar", another is "MishaelFlughVD" and "MishaelFlugh". These names are then always written with a freely invented first name and then with two capital letters. The corresponding e-mail addresses are not made up from the names of the people! I hope these users don't steal my tracks that I want to sell as downloads.

Have you had any other cases like this? I have had about 35 such registrations so far!

ich bin ein wenig besorgt um die Sicherheit meines Downloadshops. Es werden immer mehr Registrierungen abgeschlossen von Usern, die nichts bestellen. Ein großer Teil davon sind auch nicht freigegeben. Die Benutzernamen sind immer nach dem selben Muster angelegt worden. So heißt z. B. der eine Benutzer mit dem Namen "KyliebarKB" und dem Benutzername "Kyliebar", ein anderer wieder "MishaelFlughVD" und "MishaelFlugh". Diese Namen werden dann immer mit einem frei erfundenen ersten Namen und dann mit zwei Großbuchstaben geschrieben. Die zugehörigen E-Mail-Adressen sind nicht aufgebaut aus den Namen der Personen! Ich hoffe, diese Benutzer klauen mir nicht meine Tracks, die ich als Downloads verkaufen möchte.

Habt Ihr auch weitere solche Fälle gehabt? Ich habe bis jetzt ca. 35 solche Registrierungen gehabt!!

Hi, no, I didn't get any such information yet. But this should be maybe asked on Joomla general forums because Phoca Cart itself does not have any registration form, it is provided by Joomla itself. I by myself have no such experiences, so hard to give soem clue advice but maybe on some general Joomla forum, there can be users with clue advices (e.g. to somehow more protect Joomla registration form ).

Hi, I getting same fake registration. Invisible recaptcha helped, but sometimes it still happens. But it is joomla thing, because it happens to me for years on sites without phocacart too...

Hello Jan,

I checked and saw that the ReCaptcha has to be reset when switching from Joomla! 3 to 4 or 5. I have now done this and have not received any further incorrect registrations. I now use the "invisible ReCaptcha" and I am very happy with it. Thanks for your advice and regards also to "mino182", your Thomas.

ich habe nachgeschaut und gesehen, dass bei der Umstellung von Joomla! 3 auf 4 bzw. 5 das ReCaptcha neu eingestellt werden muss. Das habe ich nun durchgeführt und habe keine weiteren falschen Anmeldungen bekommen. Ich verwende nun das "invisible ReCaptcha" und ich bin sehr zufrieden damit.
