I just installed Phoca Download, and it is not working. I loaded a test file, and when I click the download button, an error occurs.
I had no trouble installing it and setting it up, but I did leave the "License" fields blank, (in case that is why it isn't working) ...I haven't got a clue as to what they are needed for. My customer just wants to download their own product manuals and brochures from their website, so I really don't know how a license would apply to that material.
Seems like a good extension, but I'm in a hurry to get the site up and running, so if I don't have a reply in 1 hour, I'll have to drop Phoca for one of the other download extensions.
Here is the page for the next hour ... http://fcmponline.com/jcms/index.php?op ... &Itemid=63 (Joomla version 1.5.14)

I went to your site and downloaded a 1.3 +/- PDF called raincatcher_manual.pdf. Opened the PDF and it looks like a barrel.

Still, if anyone wants to or can enlighten me as to why a license field is there, and what it would be used for, I would really appreciate it.

As I do not see one on your link provided, are you referring to the license field in the back end? You probably can ignore it for your system. It allows a site to require visitors to agree to a predefined license before downloading any files.

Thanks for your try... as I just posted above, I found out why it didn't work and must have fixed it just as you tried it. But I'm really glad it working fine... I will pay closer attention to my naming consistency in the rest of my input.codejunkie wrote:I went to your site and downloaded a 1.3 +/- PDF called raincatcher_manual.pdf. Many thanks, Rob.
And thanks for this great explanation of why a license may be needed, and you are correct my customer won't need it for their material they'll be downloading.codejunkie wrote:As I do not see one on your link provided, are you referring to the license field in the back end?
