Blank Page - upload control panel

Joomla 3.4.8
PHP: 5.6.38
Phoca File installed: v3.1.4
Also running Phoca gallery 4.2.2 (successfully)

I had problems using the Joomla installer, and couldn't upload from my desktop. I had to install the component via URL

1. The problem I have is that when attempting to access the upload page from the front-end I end up with a blank page.

What issue could cause a blank page to display when wishing to access the uploader?
( I am confident it is something simple but perhaps not?)

2. Also what is the optimum php version for this component?

Hi,

Joomla version 3.4.8 is from 2015 and outdated! You missed some important Joomla & security releases. Current actual version is: 3.8.12
PHP version 5.6 will be deprecated. After update your Joomla version: update also PG to 4.3.10. PHP version to 7.1 (7.2)

A question: Does Phoca keep and make available older versions of the component that would be compatible with Joomla vs 3.4.8
