Category rating

Hello,

I am having a little issue with my website on localhost.

In the "Categories view" page I show all the categories I have with a medium picture, the name and the rating. My problem is the rating is always "Rating: 0 / 0 vote" even if I have some votes.

If I hit on a category, in "Detailed view" I show at the bottom the category rating and comments and I can see the real rating of the category (e.g. Rating: 3 / 1 vote).

I have been looking around the php code (I am not an expert...) but I didn't see anything strange.

Can anyone help me? Thanks a million.

Hi, did you reload the site after rating? Try to check if on your site there is no javascript error e.g. which prevents from successfully running of javascript on the site https://www.phoca.cz/documents/16-joomla ... -conflicts

Hi Jan, Thanks for your reply. And sorry for the delay, I have just moved to another country...

I have been having this problem for weeks so it is not a reload problem. I have read your link and I checked the website with firebug: there is no errors. I have tried a new, simple and clean installation on localhost:

1. I installed Joomla (Joomla_3.2.3-Stable-Full_Package) on localhost
2. I installed Phoca Gallery (com_phocagallery_v4.1.0.zip)
3. I created a couple of new categories with some pictures
4. Menus > Main Menu > Home: Menu Item Type > Phoca Gallery > "List Of Categories (Categories View)"
5. Components > Phoca Gallery > Options: Users > Display Rating Of Categories > "Yes"; and Display Rating of Images > "Yes"
6. I rated a category and (same problem) I see the rating in the bottom of the detailed view, but I can't in the Categories view. There is no problem with rating pictures.

Could I have a conflict between Joomla and Phoca Gallery although I didn't install nothing else and I hadn't any error?

Hi,

Yes, I have no problem with the picture rating inside a category. But if I want to show the rating for categories in a categories view (where I show all the categories), e.g. https://www.phoca.cz/joomla3demo/, I can't do it, the stars are empty even if these categories have some ratings. Please, try to show the category rating in this website https://www.phoca.cz/joomla3demo/ or a similar one.

Hmmm, I see no problem with the stars:

Do you get the problem when you test to load your site with some standard template.

It looks like there is no rating for the categories (empty stars), but if you enter in one of them you will see the rating under the pictures. There is no problem with the picture rating, only with the category rating. If you wanna vote, you can use jan/1234

Hi, thank you for the information, I will try to look at the code again if I will be able to find something. I will do new version so I will let you know If I will find something there (I need to test it on more sites, maybe I will find the problem )
