Cant get Phoca Gallery to display

Good day,

Im new to Joomla and. PLEASE can you assist with getting phoca gallery to work on Joomla 1.7? I have been batteling for four hours without any success... The component is in stalled, but for some reason I can not get it to display. I know I need to allocate it on the template, but WHERE do I do the allocation. I am so frustrated at this point and time...

If you have installed Phoca Gallery Component successfully, created a category and loaded up images to this category successfully, you only have to create a menu item to display your images in frontend.
backend --> Menus --> (eg.)Main Menu --> New --> Menu Manager: New Menu Item --> Details --> Select --> Phoca Gallery --> List Of Categories (Categories View) -->
Menu Title *=(eg.)Gallery
Save & Close
