Hi!
I can't post entries in phoca guestbook using IE 9. Firefox works nicely though.
When trying in IE smileys, bold, italic and so on, doesn't work. I can fill in the required fields (but not format text or enter smileys). Klicking the send button returns red text by the required fields saying I have to enter text allthough I already did.
In the footer of the editor the word "Path:" shows. In IE there is says just Path: while in FF it says Path: P.
I have installed mootools upgrade as You suggested to another user in a thread. It did not help. I allso tried to disable tiny mce (like suggested in the same entry) but I think I don't really know how.
I run Joomla 1.5.23.
Address to my guestbook: http://juniperbay.byethost6.com/klotterplanket
Hoping You have a sollution. Thanks!

Re: Can't post entries in IE
Hi again!
I've found out how to turn Tiny MCE off. Now the guestbook works in IE to.
However theres no option to enter smileys or format text. The format text function isn't important at all but the smiley option lights up the guestbook.
I would be most grateful for a sollution.
Any way it goes - Thank You for a great service.

Hi, I think, then you need to upgrade your mootools on your site, the tinymce editor works ok with upgraded mootools.

Thanks for Your reply!
I've already upgraded mootools (downloaded from JED). It didn't solve the problem.
Also when I disabled tiny mce, reCaptcha in my mail forms disappeared.
Is there another sollution to this? Or is there perhaps another mootools upgrade available from another site?

Hi, in case, the editor is not enabled, there is no problem with mootools. Try to change the method of displaying captcha in guestbook settings - Jroute - Jhtml or reverse.

Re: Can't post entries in IE
Hi,
I have the same problem in IE(9). Not choosing for a Java editor works in IE, but the Tiny MCE Java editor doesn't work. But when I load the website in Google Crome with the Java editor enabled in the guestbook option, it works fine!
But strange is that another website that I run also with Phoca guestbook and in IE9 with the Java editor switched on does work properly! About Mootools: this is switched off in both websites. What can be wrong that apparently Java scripting within the website doesn't work. Must be some kind of switch somewhere you think...
I will continue working & searching for the solution, but any suggestions are welcome!

Re: Can't post entries in IE
Hi again,
after a couple of hours searching I found the remedy for this problem: switch the option "compatibility view" in IE(9) on (dropdown menu 'extras'). Now it is working! I added a users textline at the guestbook to inform visitors about this issue.
