When opening a category, the main menu is no longer visible

When a category is selected, the main menu is no longer visible. When the back arrow is used and the categories are listed the menu can be seen again.

I have added the gallery to an article and created the module and hidden menu item

backend --> Extensions --> Module Manager --> Your hidden Menu with link to Phoca Gallery Component --> Module: [ Edit ] --> Menu Assignment -->
Menus=All
Save your settings!

Many thanks for your reply. I cannot see where to make these changes,plus when I click on an image, I get 404 error, category is not published.

I have followed the guide for adding the phoca gallery to an article and did manage to get the image to show, but in trying to make the changes when viewing the category I have made the problem worse

Would you mind taking a look in the backend to see what I've done?
