Phoca Slideshow noob - instruction

Hi,

I have a problem with the phoca slideshow noob.
I use the new template: phoca_t_v1 with the joomla 1.6.
I installed the Phoca gallery and the phoca slideshow noob. After i set in the template: slideshow: yes and set the phoca slideshow module, but no slideshow run.
I must set something in the phoca gallery?
Can somebody give me instructions, please?

Hi,
to learn, you can do following:
1. Download the Phoca Slidshow example pictures https://www.phoca.cz/joomlademo/category/7-slideshow

2. create a new category in Phoca Gallery 3.0.0.RC

3. set: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Options --> Main --> Thumbnail Generation Settings -->
Enable Thumbnails Generation=Yes
Crop Thumbnails=Medium and small Thumbnails (or) None
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Options --> Main --> Images And Detail Window Size Settings -->
Large Image Width=970
Large Image Height=230
Save your settings!

4. create thumbnails

5. Download and install Phoca Gallery Slideshow Noob Module. http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... v1.0.0.zip
set: backend --> Extensions --> Module Manager --> mod_phocagallery_slideshow_noob --> Details -->
Published=published
backend --> Extensions --> Module Manager --> mod_phocagallery_slideshow_noob --> Basic Options -->
Category ID=(the ID of the new Phoca Gallery Category)
Images Count=8 (If you dowloaded all example images)
Slideshow Width=970
Slideshow Height=230
Duration=2000 (Or as you like)
Display Buttons=No (Or as you like)
Display Description=No (Or as you like)
Fx Transition=Bouncing (Or as you like)
Fx Ease=easeOut (Or as you like)
Save your settings!

6. Download and install Phoca T template. http://joomlacode.org/gf/download/frsre ... v1.0.1.zip
set: backend --> Extensions --> Template Manager --> Template Manager: Styles -->
phoca_t - Default=Default
backend --> Extensions --> Template Manager --> Template Manager: Styles --> phoca_t - Default --> Templates Manager: Edit Style --> Advanced Options -->
Display Slideshow=Yes
Save your settings!

I must be missing something.

I have followed the above directions more than a few times. I even started a couple brand new sites, by installing Joomla! 1.6, installing gallery, uploading and creating thumbnails but still cannot create the slide show on top of the page, like seen on the demo page. The only thing I might be missing, is what to set the module position to. If I follow the above directions, it doesn't say and the position-16 (I thought might be correct) isn't available until after you install the template.

What position do I set module so it will be like the demo site?

If that isn't the problem, any ideas?

BTW, the photos appear OK when slide show is turned off and I select an image, as you can see on my test site - http://www.jspix.com/test/

thanks for this lengthy explanation. I could finally get the slideshow with my own pictures.

Now I have an additional question:

Where do I adjust for pictures which are not that size of 970 x 230 pixels? I also want the pictures centered.

Hi - I'm trying to follow your instructions and I'm getting stuck here:

... I don't have "Options" on the Phoca Gallery Control Panel... what am I doing wrong?

you need to have super user rights

to see the Options button.
