pre-publish images

I was wondering if it is possible to add images in a way where you define the publish date in advance. It seems you can the change the date, but the publish settings do not seem to obey this. What I am looking to do is similar to articles where you have a "start publishing" date where the article is published, but not publicly visible until the start publishing date/time is past.

My goal is to have a daily image, not random, that I can pre-load several days worth of content, and not have it appear in the gallery or the module until the publish date/time I set.

Thoughts?

While we're in this discussion, would it be possible to setup both "Start Publishing" and "Finish Publishing" in addition to "Added/Creation" Date like articles? I think this could be well useful.
