Issue with rating !

Hi everybody,

I have just install Phoca Gallery and after testing it a lit bit I found it very nice.
But there is a small bug/issue with rating system in component. The situation is following:

I created several categories and subcategories in them with YouTube video. So when I am entering in any
subcategory with Video and try to rate it so as a result the pop-up window opens but there is nothing related to rating in it.
I can see only the quarter of my site ! And actually one friend of mine has the same problem.

If anybody has the same issue and solved it before please share it with me.

Hello Jan,
I am having this same problem and I can't figure out what the heck is causing it. Mine is not youtube related as all of my uploads are images, but I experience the same issue with the small box popping up that shows a small area of the site. I have never actually activated image rating so I am not sure what it is supposed to look like or how it is supposed to work. For example, I don't know if image rating is typically in a popup or not. At any rate, problem occurs in IE8, Firefox, Chrome and Opera. You can try it out here http://www.rockpocketz.com Look forward to hearing back as I can't seem to figure this one out.

DEAR Rob,

At the beginning I was thinking that is the issue in Phoca Gallery itself. But then when I came home and I checked in on another computer it was fine. I will tell you the problem might be in resolution of your screen. If it's quite small and the size of popup big then the rating window will be messed up. So try to change the size of window in General configuration of Phoca Gallery. By default for me it was around 680 x 500 which was big for my display. Change it on 600 x 400 for example.

The above parameter should be at Phoca General Config, almost at the bottom. The name is smth like Pop up size.
PLease let me know if the problem was solved.

OK This appears to be an issue as I have the Same thing. (I actually checked the Previous members Posts and websites and they still have the issue).

I have a Joomla 1.5.21
Latest Phoca gallery
Yoo-Theme Template.

When you select the Rating only a "Default Model Pop Up" Display shows with a corner of my Website and a part of the image.

When I select the Magnifying Glass - I also get the Model Pop Up Box of the Image, even though I have selected "High Slide JS" as my Detail Window. If you select he actual Image - You do get the correct High Slide JS Popup.

I have tried Multiple Browsers and different Settings for the Detail Window with no success.

I have also tried enabling/dis enabling Yoo Effects (which I do leave off) and cleaned my caches etc...

Anyone else having this issue?

UPDATE - If you go to the "Most Viewed or "Last Added" Statistics. the Pop up again is only a Standard Model Pop UP but the Rating that is in the box works properly!

I Reloaded and Reinstalled Phoca Gallery and recreated the Categories and now it appears to be working???
But when you select the Rating Stars on the Thumbnail-it still pops up the Default "Model Pop UP" and from there you can submit a rating:

Question - Shouldn't you simply be able to select the Rating Stars without it going to a POP-UP???

Hi, search this forum for "iframe" and "image" methods, html (include e.g. rating) can be displayed only in iframe detail window but if you are using "image" method, for the rating some other "iframe" method needs to be set.

Thank you for reply - An d I switched to Modal Box for awhile but the Guests Hate the Smaller Pictures and look So I am now back to HIGHSLIDE and I can not figure out still why Ratings are in a Modal Box.

I searched what you said to but I could not find anything that would fix this and I am a bit confused, but are you saying I can NOT use Ratings for images if using HS?

You can display rating in Highslide JS but not in Highslide JS (image only), see:
