How to appear only the category

In phoca gallery when I create a category and inside the category a subcategories! In the front page of phoca shows the list of subcategories like:
category1/subcategory1/and the photos
category1/subcategory2 and the photos

How would the page not display a list of subcategories, but only one category when I select the category to show subcategories. (like tree menu folder with subfolders)
So in this example to show the page only Category1 and choosing this category to show subcategories "subcategory1 and subcategory2"

backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Parameters --> Categories View Settings (List of Categories) -->
Display Subcategories=No
Display Empty Categories=Yes
Save your settings!
