my problem with this is that on the access rights there is no option for everybody - just all registered users, nobody and then the users - so maybe add a public option here and it might be more understanding for people like me.

Re: You are not authorized to do this action - Joomla Site!
I also had this issue so here is my 2 cents. When i created my category, i clicked the owner of the gallery on all the options - Access Rights, Upload Rights, Delete Rights and Owner as i thought that is what i should do. Then i got this error. So i created a new category and only click upload rights, delete rights and owner and leave access rights alone - and whalla working fine.

Had the same problem with gallery. As somebody previously suggested in MySQL database in phocagallery-categories I changed access from 1 to 0 and it worked well. Fuh.... Thanks!

Thank you for that solution (changing the value in database). That works perfect!
So the only thing needed is to edit a little bit the form in backend!

Hi, just deselect the "access right"
the difference:
access - you can set groups
access right - you can extend the "access" - groups for different users
Registered - means all registered can e.g. upload
Registered (access) - User1 (access right) - means one registered user called User1 can e.g. upload.

Wow, this was driving me nuts, found this in a google search, sorry for dragging it up but there is a little something to add here.Jan wrote:Hi, just deselect the "access right"

just deselect the "access right" ... but there is no deselect option for a mouse click. It stumped me for 5 minutes, OK forget the mouse dummy
So use the shortcut keys... Click on any of the options in Access Rights, now press CTRL + spacebar, (windows short cut key for deselect) Press save and close.
Just in case you get a blonde moment like I did, that seems to be where some people get caught out in the access rights box and the "You are not authorized to do this action - Joomla Site!" issue.
Might be a good item to place in a mouse over tool tip Jan? ... Instead of "Access Rights - Set Access Rights"
How about... "Access Rights - Set Access Rights - Leave deselected for full public viewing. Deselect via keyboard shortcuts if a selected group needs changing and no group is required"

Hi, as default, it should be not selected so in most cases this should not be a problem, yes but for specific cases, this is maybe good idea to inform the people how to deselect html multiple select forms.

Had the same problem with gallery. I changed access in database xxxxx_phocagallery_categories from 1 to 0 and it worked.
But every change in the category-settings in Joomla will overwrite 0 by 1 and the gallery disappers for non registered users again.
Is this a bug?
We have the following configuration:
Joomla! 5.2.2 Stable [ Uthabiti ] 26-November-2024 16:00 GMT
Phoca Gallery Administrator Komponente 5.0.3
MySQL 8.0.36
PHP 8.2.25
