Java Upload doesnt work

Hi,

First of all great job on the gallery. I personally love it, but I too have experienced quite some difficulties with the java uploader. Some of my members have complained that uploading from the front is impossible. Most of the time switching from browsers did the trick (the java applet works in more occations with firefox than with IE) but it doesn't function the way it should imo. On the computer that I am using right now (at work... XP java 1.5) it doesn't work for instance...

I don't want to be rude or anything, but maybe it's an idea to look at an applet that works better cross-browser. Maybe there is a way of implementing the java-applet that was mentioned above (that applet works perfectly on this computer, whereas the phoca gallery one doesn't).

I've just updated to the latest Phoca-Gallery and I too am getting the Java error when trying to use it.

Client machine XP - 64 bit (latest patches and Java). Server Suse 11.1 - 64 bit - Apache2 (latest)

Same error message on Firefox, Opera and MS Exploder (all latest versions).

BUT

It works perfectly using Safari from Apple. I've just managed to upload (and auto-resize) 150 pictures with no problems.

So, as a work around you might like to try Safari on XP (and actually it's not a bad browser). This doesn't of course explain why it does not work on a Mac itself.

I too though cannot use the multiple file upload, the Java error i get is :

I've tried Firefox 3.5 and safari 3, and I'm on a mac... any thoughts?

Instead i have to upload with FTP into a folder in Phoca, and that's fine, and when selected in the uploaded section I can choose the folder and it will generate thumbnails, so the manual work around works great, but the java tool would be much easier...

Hi, this is known issue, the java uploader has some problems on Mac, I have updated the version of this java programm but it seems like this have still problems, so we must wait until some new version will come

Hi people, I have the same problem!
Im from Brazil and have two installations of Joomla 1.5.12 on the web server and at home I use a PC with Vista Home and the Java uploader works very well.
But today I tried to upload from my Laptop with XP Pro SP3 and ger the error "Unable to access to the postURL .........." this happens to the two different Joomla I have.

I have the same problem error alert, although it happens with Windows Vista Business. My workaround is uploading via FTP - but I'd prefer the simplicity of the Java Uploader.

Configuration:
- Windows Vista Business
- Java 6 R13
- Joomla 1.5.12
- Phoca Gallery 2.5

Hope there can be a solution found, but it's probably within the Java applet and therefore not in Jan's responsibility.

Hi, I have porblem with multiple java upload too. I have vista or xp firefox 3.09 java 6. On one site with joomla 1.5.11 and gallery 2.3 is no problem, on another site on the same webhosting(other in differen subdomain the same domain) with joomla 1.5.12 and gallery 2.5 ends the multiple upload with error in atachment and only one file is uploaded.
I will try the clean instalation od 2.5 versin gallery, because this was an upgrade from version 1.8.8 (i have more than 1000 pictures in gallery)
But i thing there is problem in 2.5 version...

So i tryed the clean instalation of 2.5 (rename the phocagallery fotder in images, delete dabases and install with Phoca Gallery FTP Installation File-option new instalation ) and is´t still the same problem. I must try the version 2.3 that works good

Problem is probbably with joomla 1.5.12, because I tryed on 1.5.12 gallery 2.3 and it´s still the same problem, but 2.5 gallery on 1.5.11 has no problem. So I think it wil be needed make some changes in phocagallery to work correctly with joomla 1.5.12

Hi, please wait until 1.5.14 will be released, there were some problems in 1.5.12 and 1.5.13, maybe this will help.
