I think, that script cannot create a folder to save all the thumbnails, so there are some permissions problems, these can be solved e.g. by changing main image / phocagallery folder to 777 or by enabling FTP layer

As I said the server does not allow the configuration of CHMOD.

So what is "Enabling FTP layer". Is it in Joomla configuration ?
