Other modal boxes (such as parameters etc) are working fine in Joomla. It must be something in the Phocagallery... I would appreciate if someone could help me sort this out :\...

I actually am having the same exact problem with the new white window. I'm using the JA Purity v1.2.0 template, and when I first installed Phoca Gallery, everything worked fine.

Three significant changes to my site have happened since then, but I'm not positive when the problem first appeared with the Phoca Gallery, because it was working beautifully, I stupidly did not check it along the way.

1) Applied the Joomla security patch which came out a couple of weeks ago

2) Overwrote the ja_templatetools.php file with the clean one that comes with Joomla v1.5.6 to reset everything because I made a change somewhere that I shouldn't have, and again, stupidly did not document. ( I also had to overwrite the four main .css files, but don't think that would have anything to do with it)

3) Moved the all files & folders out of the /joomla folder into the root directory.

As suggested above, I tried removing all Phoca Gallery products - the gallery, random_image module, and slideshow plugin, and I re-installed the Gallery only. It still did not fix the problem. When I uninstalled the Gallery, I did receive an error message that an .xml file could not be deleted, but upon new installation all files appear to have been replaced. I also did not delete the phoca/images folder on uninstall, but did delete and then re-load all of the images after the re-install for a reason unrelated to this problem.

As a note, the modal box does work fine in the back end when using the "parameters" option, and curiously, the modal box now appears when I edit "parameters" of other menu items and a few other things in the site where it never appeared before.

I'm going to now check the joomla.org forum as suggested above, and if/when I find a solution, I will post it here.

Thanks everyone for all your help.

JA Purity - detail display issue when moving site to root

Post by spydrwomyn »

Just wanted to update that I have searched in Joomla forum - both in extensions/components and JA Purity template, and also in Google under several permutations of the subject line of this post.

The only idea that came up along the way was setting the configuration.php variables for log, temp, and live site to absolute paths. So, I tried that and uninstalled/reinstalled. Still no change, except one image in my header moved, when viewed in Mozilla. (Not in IE6). Haven't been able to undo that by restoring configuration.php variables to what they were before, so I'm honestly not sure if there is some type of conflict with Phoca Gallery that is causing the header issue, because I've only been making changes related to this component.

I tried abandoning component and using plug-in in an article -followed instructions & FAQ - that didn't work at all.

Also - spent a few hours pouring through library files and js files in the template, in the Phoca Gallery component, and in Joomla install (I'm on 1.5.6), and could not confidently recognize a command related to the the relationship between the modal box and the site url.

Someone else is having an issue with the JA Purity template and the modal box, so I cross-posted here http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=541&t=319645, with a link to this post in case the issues are related. Hopefully that did not violate forum ettiquite, if so, I sincerely apologize. I'm trying very hard to explore all the options and come up with a solution.

What continues to perplex me is that the Gallery & modal box worked with the JA Purity template at one point. I don't have solid evidence that the break is directly linked to moving the site out of the root. Is it at all possible that the security patch 1.5.6 caused the issue, as I checked that code and there are some lines concerning pop-up views?

Sorry for the long posts, but I'm trying to share all the appropriate information. Being that the JA Purity template is a standard template with Joomla, and the Phoca Gallery component seems to be so widely used, it would seem to benefit many if a solution could be determined. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, in Joomla! there is a method how to call the modal box (modal box is a 'standard joomla frameworks method') ... so Phoca Gallery will call the "modal box", define the buttons (rel=.... size of the modal box window, opacity, border color, etc...) but this is all what Phoca Gallery does... the rendering is produced by Joomla framework... so if there is a standard installation of Joomla! (every version), calling the modal box should not have any problems with paths ???

so what can be the problem: maybe (I really don't know) ja purity calls the modal box with the same name as Phoca Gallery, or there is some library which change the behaviour of standard method? But in this case it will not work on other servers too... I am trying now JA Purity with Phoca Gallery on my test servers and everythink seems to work there  so the wrong "path" can be a problem but maybe not the basic path to the modal.js which should be displayed in html code of your site...

please let me know the path to modal box in you html... ???

Hello - and thank you so much for spending time on this!

I found a file called modal.js at the following path
/html/media/system/js/modal.js

Hope this is what you are looking for.
