Moving PhocaGallery to a new site (old site Hacked)

Post by lonetour »

My website was hacked when lots of other joomla sites were hacked also.

I have tried many things to fix it, but i think it is broken beyond repair!

Mostly I want to set up the exisiting phocagallery on a new site.... is it possible to export the phocagallery parts of the old site and data base, and set them up in a new site, or would it be easier to just start again?

The parts of the old website I would need would be:

1. admin/components/com_phocagallery
2. components/com_phocagallery
3. images/phocagallery
4. from the MySQL - bak_phocagallery and bak_phocagallery catagories

I think i would then need to build the new site, and put these files in the right place and ..... well??? will it work??

here's hoping....

Hi, first you need not to backup phoca gallery files (they are still the same, so you can install new version of Phoca Gallery and you will have updated files)...

If you want to recreate your gallery, you should:

1) copy your images from images/phocagallery folder (from old site to new site - the same folder structure will be used)

2) then save(backup) the phocagallery and phocagallery_categories tables from your old database and install new Phoca Gallery in new site, then e.g. through phpMyAdmin run the backuped sql queries (tables - phocagallery and phocagallery_categories)

So after the installation of new Phoca Gallery, all Phoca Gallery tables will be empty and if you run the backuped sql queries from your old site, then first two tables will be full with your old data...
