Picasa albums automatically updated

Hi,

I got a few question about the import of pictures from Picasa into Phoca gallery:

• Will the pictures really be imported/stored locally? Or is only a reference imported and the disk space etc. is still available?
• When I update the album in Picasa, will Phoca be automatically updated as well?
• I am considering buying JCE editor. Is Phoca Gallery compatible with JCE? Is there a plugin for JCE or do I need to type the {} codes to insert Phoca Gallery stuff?

Hi,

1) no the images are stored on Picasa, only links to these images and some information (geo, title, description) are imported)
2) no they are not automatically updated - you need to updated them in administration (to update them automatically some script on your server needs to be created - e.g. cron,etc. )
3) I think you need to ask JCE developers, I don't have any experiences with JCE. Phoca Gallery plugins are standards Joomla! content plugins so they should be accepted by every editor - try to see this forum, there were some users who had problems with JCE (as it uses own behaviour for managing plugins) but I think they were successfully solved on JCE support sites.
