Set the thumbnail of category

Hy to all,
I want so bad the function to set a static image for the thumbnail of a category. I dont see it in the 3.2.1 update so I want ask, is this a planned feature at all? Will this be possible in the future? I think its a basic thing when it goes about design, I would even pay for that.
Or can this be done with a little hacking?
