File Types

Post by 4thdesign »

Hi,

Is there anyway I can change the file types to be uploaded by users and Admin?

I want to be able to upload zip files, is this possible and if so, how?

Thanks :)

hi,
no, phoca gallery doesn't work with zip files. you can upload zip-files using the joomla media manager, but the gallery won't be able to use them.

Sorry, but where is joomla media manager? Is it part of the joomla installation or a seperate component?

Sorry, just to add, I found the joomla media manager, but thats not what i am after.

I need my users to be able to upload and download files. zip files in particular, and as far as i am aware, joomla media manager is ONLY for administrators to use in the backend of Joomla, not for registered users to use on the frontend of the website.

Any help, tips or advice on what to use for this, would be most helpful :)

Yes have tried phoco download, but it doesnt have the ability to have a thumbnail as MANDATORY.

Its there, but if a user that wants to upload something, they dont have to add a thumbnail image, however, for my website, its a MUST have function.

Unless you know a way to force a user to upload a thumbnail? :)
