Will not generate thumbnails, getting error

Hello to everyone,
I'm new to phoca. I keep getting this error when I click on the images tab;

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 30408704) (tried to allocate 16000 bytes) in /homepages/24/d316939354/htdocs/seeclearglass_joomla/administrator/components/com_phocagallery/libraries/phocagallery/image/imagemagic.php on line 214

If I "stop thumbnail generation" then I wont get the error but no images will show up at all in the back end or front end. Does anyone know why this is happening am I forgetting to do something? Could it be because the images are too big?

Hi Benno,

These are the errors im getting. I used the java uploader. The image files show up but when i check the images and click save this is when the errors come up. I don't get it and don't understand what to do. Hope you or someone can help.

..and how do you access the GD library? I found something that said it may need to be enabled.

go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Info

the marked part of the infobox must be green.

GD library is a part of php. If you don't have access to the php.ini of your server, you need to contact your hosting provider.
