Adding large no of images

hi,

i m creating a site with thousands of images(photos) displayed in diff. categories . Once i upload them to specific folder (created in the name of category) do i have to press that insert image icon for 1000 times to assign all the uploaded pics to particular gallery. Is it possible to batch select images and assign them to any category ?

Currently its a mammoth task to go to PhocaGallery-->Images--> Add New--> and then insert file name and assign category and select image file to 1000 images...

any solution.. ?
