Joomla 2.5 User Groups vs Category Access Rights

When will it be possible to grant category access to the new joomla user groups?
I found no possibility to use this in the current phoca version.

front end access (to view categories) ist already possible in category settings (same as for regular Joomla categories or articles), a dropdown showing your user groups.
