Allow Frontend Users to Upload to Existing Categories

Hi Everyone,

I'm using the fantastic Phoca Gallery plugin on several sites to allow users to upload their own pictures, which is great!

These sites have already created categories in which they would like users to post their pictures, so the only difficulty that I've been having is that the front end seems to force users create a their own category before they are able to upload an image.

Is is possible to set Phoca Gallery so that registered users can upload to any existing categories, as well as creating their own?

I know this is old, and probably answer somewhere else, but...
can users upload to existing categories from the UCP? if yes how?

Hi, yes, just create such category and set that the user has upload rights to it or set the ownership of the category to this user
