Joomla 1.7 Randomly logs out while using Phoca Download

When I am working in Phoca Download adding Categories or files it randomly logs out. When you log back end the menu across the top is missing and the logout button will not work. I have to close the window and open up Joomla again and login, still no menu across the top but the login button works. I logout and back in and the menu is back until it happens again. It appears that this is only happening when I am working in Phoca download. Joomla 1.7 Latest version of Phoca Download

Hi, Phoca Download itself does not handle logins, so there is no function to logout, so I think, this is more a Joomla! question - do you get some error or warning message while logging out?

Sorry I needed to be clearer, when I am working in Phoca Download specifically adding new and making changes to categories, adding files i.e. I click on file, new, add, choose a name, and browse for the file name (already uploaded), and choose the access, save new or save close and create another file. As I am adding files or categories all of a sudden the Phoca control panel disappears along with the Joomla menu at the top. I have to close out the Joomla tab and log back in, then I get the backup required icon, view site and log out, then I can log out, log back in and it works again, until it repeats.
It may be Joomla 1.7 or some other extension, I did notice that during the process described above there is a quick flash at the top bar, I used a program to capture the screen and found that the heading Administrator flashes and disappears.
