I cant make it work

Hi,
I am actually on Joomla 1.5, I already install an enable the following files:
com_phocadownload_v1.3.9
after installing this one, it was missing the botton of phoca in the article edit, so i installed but i dont remember the name, anyway after cretaing the link from the article i got this on my website:

{phocadownload view=file|id=1|text=VB.net with Access_Excel|target=s}

{phocadownload view=category|id=1|text=citybreaks|target=s}

what i am doing wrong? or what is missing?
if something is missing to install someone can please help sending me the links,
i have been looking for some documentations for hours but havent found anything

I think you installed Phoca Download Button Plugin. But the Button Plugin creats only valid code for Phoca Download Plugin. So if you install and enable Phoca Download Plugin too, it should work.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply, I actually thought that was a problem of my host with joomla 1.5 (i had problem in the past), so I decide to upgrade to joomla 1.6, i saw in an old post that you post 3 links that are required to make it work in joomla 1.6, unfortunately in that moment i was using 1.5 so i didnt add that site into my favourites and now i cant find it, do you think is possible to give me all those links and for new people that are in joomla 1.5
I think it will be extremely handy.

Hi benno,
Thank you so much for all the information, unfortunately I’ve got another question.
I was able to make it work in my localhost, but when I try to install the component into my webserver it doesn’t work, basically this is what happens:
The zip file upload properly and after uploading appears the that 3 folders where created and if I want to install or upgrade. After click on install I got a white screen however in my component menu appears phoca download, but if I click in any of the components the same white screen will appear.
The url after install is also a bit weird is like this:
Mysite.com/administrator/index.php?option=com_phocadownload&task=phocadownloadinstall.install
I already try to follow the steps suggested in phoca website:

I think also something extremely odd I test installing phoca gallery and documents components and both install properly
Please some help : )

Only the first link you posted is for joomla v1.6 use. The second link will not work, because this guide is made for joomla v1.5.

Hi,
I have the white page problem as well. I tried it now in several configurations (version 2.1.0/2.1.1 on hosted webserver, on local machine copy of site, on local machine with fresh install) with joomla 1.6.3. No constellation worked. As I found several advices here and in other sources I tried now everything on my local machine, even those provider things like manipulating php.ini and so on as well as deactivating SEF or trying out ftp install. NOTHING worked. Server debugging and php error messages don't give a clue as well. There is just a white page - neither providing any message nor any trackable event or message...
Then I tried 2.0.0 RC3 - it worked in all those scenarios directly without any problems.
Can you give me any idea to make it run?

Hi Benno,
thanks for your effort to think about. I found the solution by myself since I already implemented it in the question - updating to 1.6.5 respectively 1.7 solved my problems.
