Installing V2.0.0 RC2 (RESOLVED)

I have installed the latest release of Guestbook on a local installation (V20.0 RC2). (Joomla 1.6.3).
I had to create the database tables manually, the installer would do nothing by itself, also there was no error message.
OK so far. No trouble. But then:
The guestbook was working, I could make entries, but I did't see them in the front view, only in admin.
I went back a version, nothing doing.
I went back another version, still no luck.
Finally I installed 2.0.0 Beta3, and lo, the Guestbook ist working.
Any suggestions?

Hi, enable php error reporting and debug mode, maybe you will get some information about problem in database.

I did that, but there aren't any errors. The posts are in the database, the tables look OK, in the admin end i see all the entries, it's just the front end that does not display anything but the form.
What now?

Hi,
did you enable "Display Posts" in backend?
backend --> Components --> Phoca Guestbook --> Phoca Guestbook Control Panel --> Options --> Form -->
Display Posts=Yes
Save & Close

Sure I enabled this - it's enabled by default.

[edit] And before you ask, it doesn't matter which template I assign to the guestbook, the problem is always there.

Well, at last I was able to resolve the problem. It was the database. In the table phocaguestbook-books there was an field called 'report'. It seems it was installed when I installed the tables manually. This field was not present in another installation I campared things with. I deleted this field - and now everything looks right.
Thanx for your patience - obviously it was all my fault...

BTW Phoca Guesbook won't install with 1.7 beta. I played a bit with it, again I had to install tables manually - and then all the rest as well. In the end it did not install the backend link.... But then 1.7 is still a beta...

Hi, yes, 1.7 will be still changed - in beta, in RC - the Joomla! release strategy is really big problem for all developers (time issues).

I tried all of the above but still the posts are not showing in the frontend.

I indeed had a field called "report" in the database table jos_phocaguestbook_books, so i deleted it.. but unfortunatly no posts.

Do you have any more advise on this?
No errors are shown..

EDIT>>> After refreshing the page after 10 min the posts are shown!! So i guess i was a little impatient. And the above procedure works!
