Hi Guys, I seen a few people with a simliar problem but no fix that works for me.
When trying to upload a file (2.1Mb) I get the "not a valid image file. I also get the error:
Warning: getimagesize() [function.getimagesize]: Filename cannot be empty in *******/******/components/com_phocagallery/file/fileupload.php on line 590
I am using 1.6 and RC4 atm.
Any questions please ask....
Thanks in advance

Re: Not a valid image
Hi, maybe you get some fatal error while uploading and e.g. the script return false there.
Where do you upload? Admin, Frontend. Single, Multiple or Java upload?

Re: Not a valid image
Update:
I have been playing about with this and found the following:
When uploading from the back office it creates a thumbnail, but when you click on it, it is blank and opens up and white "X" icon, the usual "not found" picture.
Any thoughts?
*****Update 2*****
When relogging into the back office, the thumbnail genertor kick started and now I can see the 2.1 Mb image on the front end. Still cannot upload from the frontend though.

[Solved] Not a valid image
Hi guys.....Update...Solved
Tried Java upload: fail
Tried changing php.ini : fail
Changing file size : fail
Contacted server hosts and they said they changed their php.ini? and all is working now.....strange. For all of you with the "Not a valid image" issue, try contacting your host and asking them to increase the size in their php.ini!
Maybe someone can shed some light on the fact that i changed mine in admin folder but they changed theirs?? Any way all sorted now and able to upload 3Mb files through the frontend.
