insert images (gallery) on an article:using gallery plugin

Hi,
I review this post, because maybe I've found the solution, but now I need help to try to make it works.

I've downloaded the phoca Gallery plugin. I try to use it, but I've some prob.
I explain what I do:

- already installed Gallery component
- installed plugin
- insert on an article the code to use the plugin

but as category, what category do I have to use?
- the one that I set on the category menu item of the Gallery item?
if yes:

the second problem is:

how do I assign images to the category?
by the images menu of the Phoca gallery component?
if yes:
How can I upload more than one images?


please help me, simply drive me to some doc

I'm brand new to this forum. I was looking for a gellery code (plugin, module ...)and I've found phoca, that at first impression do more that I'm looking for, but it lacks somethings:

On my web site, I have
- more section
- more article in each section
- more images in each article

tipically, I have one image, a text, and following more images (20- 30).
I would that this images from the second 'till the end) compare as thumbnail ad click over should zoom it.

but, I would 'compose' the page laout

The PhocaGallery component let me made just a standard gallery, but if I would use gallery among text. I dont't if I self explained.

You should create a menu item "Phoca Gallery Category List Layout".
Then you can choose every category you like and and you will not receive any 404 error.

- then I made an article

There are different options to order your images.

- can I have a slideshow with just to images per line? I didn't find a parameter for that.

Because there are no parameter for this, this depends on several things, the width of your template, the width of your monitor .... and so on.

One little step ahead

on my category I have 14 images, but now just 4 o them are published (so I can check better the feedback)

so, now on my gallery, I have 4 images.
but I don't understund the order they appear.
I.e. if it appear image 1, image 2, image 3, image 4, if I refresh the screen (F5) I obtain another order, and so on each time I press F5 I obtain a newer order of image.

The prob is that when I zoom in one image, then the button "next image" is able just until it reach the image with the hiren ID number, not until my last image shown.

it is very difficult to explain.

I try another example:
4 images_
1-2-3-4

the order of the gallery is:
2 - 3 - 4 - 1

if I clik to zoom the first image of the gallery (the number 2 in this case) I can click the next button just 2 times (just to reach the image number 4)

sadly I'm making this proof on my pc, not on a web site, so, for now it is not accessible, but if is it necessary to solve, I can publish it.

Hi,

I try another example:
4 images_
1-2-3-4

the order of the gallery is:
2 - 3 - 4 - 1

The images are sorted by file name if you choose this option: 1 - Ordering ASC.
So try to rename the first image 000001.jpg,
second 000002.jpg and so on.
in my case I can refresh the page as often as I like but the order will not change with this kind of file names...

now I have 4 images:
001 (ordering 1)
002 (ordering 2)
003 (ordering 3)
004 (ordering 4)

you drive me to the solution and at least you don't trust in you?

This is the solution!

In this panel, that I never have seen before, there is set o - Category Image ordering: RANDOM

for that reason that every time I push F5 I obtain a new order!!!

ok, now I've set Title ascending, (and descendig too) and I always obtain ascending order, but this is another prob. Now that I know the existence of this panel I will look at it on the future.
