watermark doesn't work

Hi,
I have created some galleries and now I want to use watermark feature.
I've created a watermark-medium.png image and put into root images\phocagallery to use it on all images from all categories.
On "create watermark" parameter I've choosed "yes (root)" but nothing happens.
I've created a copy named watermark-large.png and put into the same place. No results.
Do I need to delete and re-upload all images again?
I mention that I use "slimbox" effect to show images.

P.S. Another question: I need to receive email notification on every comment on images. It's possible?

You have to delete the thumbnails because the watermarks are inserted during thumbnail creation.

Sorry no idea. I don't use comments, therefore I have no experience with this...
