Hide form not working (Artisteer template)

Post by Frankster69 »

Hello,

First, I really like this guestbook, and the many configurable captcha options too. I was specifically attracted by the option to hide the form for posts. However, this does not work.

I saw an earlier post about this, but it had a different reason and is now labeled [solved]. So I presume you are not really lokking there anymore. In that post, somebody mentioned the 'hide form' option not working and he was using an Artisteer template. You suggested to talk to the Artisteer people.

I have the same issue: It is not working in my Artisteer template. For the other person it did work in the default templates, but for me, it still doesn't work if I switch to Beez, Purity or Rhuk template.

I would really like to ask you to take a look at this, since the Artisteer program is gaining fast in popularity. Since the program is intended for template design for 6 or so different platforms, it will be very difficult to convince the Artisteer people to change something just to connect to one component. And yes, it is a complicated but very versatile program.

Many other components and modules, also with open/close attributes work just fine in an Artisteer template.

if you would like to have a look, you can find my site (with Phoca guestbook) here:
http://mc-ub.free-frank.net/

I hope you can have a look, and possibly come up with a solution?

kind regards,

Frank 'Mc UB'

Hello Jan,

I'm sorry, of course.. The text is in Dutch. The link to the guestbook is: "Laat een berichtje achter" (bottom of menu)
Full link: http://mc-ub.free-frank.net/index.php?o ... &Itemid=72

kind regards, Frank

Hi, I get this javascript error:
Error: toggler.injectBefore is not a function
Source File: http://mc-ub.free-frank.net/media/system/js/mootools.js

I see jquery there, maybe there can be problem too. The opening the guestbook is done by JPane method (Joomla! method) which uses the mootools, so there must be something external which can conflict with this :-(

Hello Jan,

Where do you see the error message? Firebug? I don't see it in regular use of the site?

Thank you for your time sofar. I will try tomorrow to disable everything else apart from the guestbook. Could it maybe be the imagechanger on the left?

I would love to be able to close the form when not used. I'll look at it myself tomorrow or saturday again.

PS: an idea just came: can you not make the entry form as a module too? Is that possible? So you can put it in any module position? Where the content is written to the guestbook pages?

Hi, yes in Firefox javascript console.

really no idea which javascript part can be in conflict.

Module - yes, but such module needs to be created (it cannot be convereted from component to module :-( )
