yes,
backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Phoca Gallery Control Panel --> Parameters --> Comment Settings -->
Display Category Comments=as you like
Display Image Comments=Yes
Save your settings!

Hi Benno,

I do not manage to put any comment on the pictures. I would like to show brief information on the photo at the moment somebody is clicking at those photo.
How do I get to do that..?
