Can't Edit or Create Menu Item

Hello, i can't edit or create a new Menu Item for Phoca Gallery it drops me to the menu manager after save without any error or anything.

Hi, you should check if your Joomla! was correctly installed (mainly the Menu Manager)

Thanks Jan i would check it but this is very weird only the phoca gallery menu item is stacking and not saving or creating any new, all the other menus (i have about 4 pages x20 ) are working perfect.. the only issue in menu manager is when i try to create Phoca Gallery Category List Layout or any layout of phoca gallery

Hi, no as I have no experiences with problems in Menu Manager In fact not idea what exactly can be wrong there

I too have this behaviour

Phoca v2.7.5 Joomla 1.5.20

New install with no sample data loaded

Action taken:

Uploaded 1.5.20 joomla via FTP again to ensure good install > no change.

Created a new set up with all sample data installed: > no change

Uninstalled Phoca 2.7.5, and installed Phoca 2.6.2(the next newest one I had) > ALL FIXED

Does anyone know what to look for - what could be causing this fault? Is it particular to this version of Phoca?

Hmm, it is really difficult to say if there is no error message.

Try to enable php error reporting, enable debug mode and try to see the errroLog on your server, maybe there will be something

i have tried phoca gallery on multpile installs and all of them same problem. no matter what joomla insatll or server all same issue. why cant we create menu items?

create new menu item redirects to menu manager everytime, cant even get a link for phocogallery as menu item.

If I will say to my car repairman, my car is broken but will not say what is broken and will not come with this car to the service, it is very difficult for this repairman to divine what is wrong with my car (Moreover, when you maybe are driving Ford and you are telling about the problem to Volkswagen repairman)

The same with this kind of error - I am testing it on my live sites like on my all test sites, without any error. The next problem is, it is in the Menu Manager, not in Phoca Gallery, so if you know how can I divine such kind of error in case I get no such error (and a lot of users get no such error too) will be great.

I will be the first who will fix the possible problem. I don't spend my freetime here to ignore users and their errors, the only goal of this forum is to help with user's problem but if there is no enough information to find some part where we can begin to solve this problem, it is really hard.

Anyway did you ask or search this kind of error on joomla.org forum, are there some information topics?

Hi Jan and others,

I have now upgraded the working Phoca 2.6.2 to the latest Phoca 2.7.5 (this is a Joomla 1.5.20 install)

Strange menu behaviour is back.

I have turned debug on, and put error reporting to maximum

There is no error message - just the wrong behaviour.

I just have a feeling that there is a plugin or module missing? Or it will be a php setting perhaps.

Has anyone out there solved this yet?
