IE shows unwanted text in component

Post by Earthlady »

hi,

in internet explorer my phoca gallery shows an unusual link and text, when in firefox this is not the case. i can't find a solution and i can't see what it is either (because obviously there is no IE version of firebug).
this is the message that appears above my category and images: www.phoca.cz - Begin Categories -->

also, when i press a certain category, i have a duplicate "back" button which doesn't function. why is there a duplicate and how can i remove this?

all these errors do not appear in Firefox nor Safari, only IE.

thanks!

Hi, can I see the site where this occurs?

Maybe you should see all the extensions on your site (e.g. system plugins) to see if there is no such plugin which includes errors and display e.g. html comments on your site, etc. etc.

I see this site in IE without any such behaviour :-(

Hi,

I seem to have the same problem but this time it's in Firefox. The gallery displays the following text "www.phoca.cz - Begin Categories" above the icons, both in the categories and the category mode. This happens only with some joomla templates, but unfortunately it does happen with the template I want to use. I don't know about IE but in Safari the text is not there even with the same template. Any idea how to fix that?

you can see the gallery here

Thanks, Kasia

Hi, your template includes unclosed tag: <div id="innernopad", means it is not correctly created and display then html comments, etc. You need to fix your template to fix your problem. :(

Hi Jan,

it seems i have the same problem on my site, but as far as i know html & php i cant find such an error like unclosed tags .. all i found are some warnings for google analytics and i already made some tests without the google code .. but i still have the problem with the unwanted

Code: Select all

www.phoca.cz - Begin Categories -->
. :x

Could you please do me a favor and have a look at my sourcecode and tell me what´s wrong with my phoca gallery? Thank you very much!

Hi, in your HTML code I see some problems with:

<div id="innernopad"

Phoca itself does not have any unclosed tag, so if there is something (extension, system plugin, etc. on your site which breaks the html before displaying the Phoca Gallery, then it breaks all the html after this wrong code) :(

So try to check your extensions (system plugin, template, modules) for html correctness so some of the extension will not break the html so extensions rendered after will have problems with displaying themselves

BTW, I see no Phoca Gallery on that site, only broken html, but which extension did it, really no idea
