Thumbnails on homepage

how do i display "thumbnails" on my homepage in one of the modules?
i would like to have about 5-6 thumbnails to be displayed on the homepage.

I tried with the "custom html" but this doesn't work!
i tried with the latest articles too but then this gives the link to the article and it shows the thumbnails there and not on the homepage

please help. search result gave me nothing of what i'm looking for.

What do you mean with homepage? Do you mean the frontpage article?

yes i'm referring to frontpage and i would like to have it placed somewhere in the frontpage.

here's a demo website (see the gallery at the bottom) although i doubt this website is in joomla but i want a similar effect: http://www.nagalandpost.com/

Phoca Gallery is a gallery for joomla!

Requirements:

* Joomla!1.5.10 (stable or any later version)
* PHP 4.4.1 (or any later version) with GD library (graphics library for thumbnails creation).

So you need a propper installed joomla!,
installed Phoca Gallery,
and if you wish to publish your pictures on frontpage you need to install Phoca Gallery Plugin.

yeah i tried it that way using "custom HTML" module if you guys read my first post properly again:

but this gives no result. it only shows the code and not the pictures!!
This same code works in the articles though. i have a feeling this plugin works "only" for articles!
