Thanks for help with this basic setup question: I've installed the Phoca Download component 1.3.3 and plug-ins, on Joomla 1.5.15 hosted by Siteground. I'm trying to configure the installation with a goal of incorporation of phoca file download links in various articles in my under-development site.
I've read all the component and plug-in documentation for this extension that I can find, and have browsed this forum looking for answers. The phoca plug-ins and component are published. I can see the phoca link button below a content article, and inserting a link to the test file described below does add an icon to the article, that points to a phoca section, not a file, though I configured it to point to a file.
I first created and published a phoca section called 'test' and a phoca category called 'test' and a phoca file 'test file' within that category and section. The phoca settings are configured to store files in the default phocadownload folder. Using the media manager I uploaded a single PDF file to the phocadownload folder.
The basic question I have: how is the phoca file as its configured in the phoca component admin made to connect to the PDF file I uploaded to the media manager phocadownload folder. When I created 'test-file' there is a field name asking for the filename, and a popup icon following that field--when I select that popup the message is that There Is No File, and the Browse Files button and other buttons in the popup dialog below that accomplish nothing. How does the phoca file 'test-file' get the information on the downloadable PDF I put in the media manager? I would assume the icon following the filename how the phoca file grabs the connection to the file I put in phocadownload, but I can't get that to happen.

The file needs to be uploaded to "phocdownload" folder.

Hi, can I see the site where this occurs?

Shouldn't that be "phocadownload"? In any case, I followed the instructions provided with the extension and couldn't get it to work.Jan wrote:The file needs to be uploaded to "phocdownload" folder.
Jan, I appreciate your work developing this and other extensions, and in responding on this forum.
