Phoca Gallery Button

Post by ronh25 »

Does phoca gallery button still exist for adding the gallery code to an article. Despite having installed and activated the plugin the only reference to phocagallery in the article editor comes within the CMS CONTENT button and reads Phoca gallery image.
Am I doing something wrong here?
I am using Joomla 5, Phoca Gallery 5.1.2, Gallery button plugin 4.5.2

Hi,
in the article editor comes within the CMS CONTENT button and reads Phoca gallery image.
Yes, click on this 'Phoca Gallery Image' Button. This is the Phoca Gallery Button Plugin:

Hi Benno and many thanks for your help.I have tried this and find that when I do so and save and view the page I see ALL the galleries EXCEPT the one I want. For clarity I show the code which is pasted onto the page.
{phocagallery view=categories|imagecategories=1|imagecategoriessize=1|hidecategories=41}.

Looking back at earlier pages on the website the code looks like this and that worked as expected:
{phocagallery view=category|categoryid=31|limitstart=0|limitcount=0}
This displayed the single gallery expected

I have changed hosting in the intervening period and wonder if there is something which has changed in the intervening period or if I am doing something completely stupid. I would really appreciate any guidance you may be able to offer.

This code still works, because it is Category View.
Deselecting categories only affects Categories View.

Yes, something has changed in the Phoca Gallery Content Plugin as described above. See screenshot below:

Thanks again Benno, so are you telling me that if I use the code generated by the phoca button I have to list ALL the categories I do not wish to display on an article.
I have tried using the old form of code like this typed in manually like this
{phocagallery view=category|categoryid=31|limitstart=0|limitcount=0}
but that does not work at all either. I am terribly confused. I really liked phocagallery as it used to work but I have spent about 3 days tearing my hair out trying to solve this issue. I truly hope it can be solved as it makes phocagallery unusable for my purposes.
Just for info my website lists a lot of family holidays with a page for each day of every holiday each of which have a gallery specific to that day. This means that there are potentially hundreds of seperate galleries present and I would not wish to list all those to exclude.
So sorry to keep asking what must appear to be foolish newbie questions.

Hi,
{phocagallery view=category|categoryid=31|limitstart=0|limitcount=0}
As I have already written above, this code should work. Nothing has changed in the category view, only in the categories view.
If the images of your category 31 are not displayed correctly, it is worth trying to switch to the Joomla standard template Cassiopeia for testing.

In your screenshot I see that you have installed the Phoca Gallery Slideshow Plugin. You should uninstall this, because it is a Joomla 3 plugin and therefore does not work and may even cause problems.

Thanks so much Benno. Tomorrow I intend to start a new gallery with a few images and get that worknig AFTER unistalling phoca slideshow as you recommend. You have given me a lot of help and hope you will not mind if I feed back my results tomorrow.
