Gallery Flow

Post by rdaughdril307 »

I hope I can explain what I need. Here are just examples of what I need.

I have categories named
Main Category
Pets
Subcategories
Dogs
Cats

In my menu item, I am using List Of Categories (Categories View)
It shows all my categories that have photos in them.

Is there a setting that steps down from

Pets (displayed)
*clicked
then Dogs and Cats are displayed
*Clicked on Dogs
The Dogs photo gallery is displayed.
or
*Clicked on cats
The cats' photo gallery is displayed.

I hope I explained myself successfully enough.

I guess I could make menu items for each subcategory, but I will have numerous subcategories and that would get very laborious.

Thanks for the help

Hi,
go to: backend --> Components --> Phoca Gallery --> Control Panel --> Options --> Categories View --> Categories View Settings-->
and set:
Display Subcategories=No
Display Empty Categories=Yes

Kind regards,
Benno

Let try to explain better, I'm not sure if what I am asking can even be done.
CERTC (Parent) (Alias:certcparent) Public
- CERTC (Parent) - Employees (Alias:subfolder-a) CERTC (Parent)
- CERTC (Parent) - Training Classes (Alias:subfolder-b) CERTC (Parent)
- CERTC (Parent) - Pets (Alias:subfolder-c) CERTC (Parent)
- - CERTC (Parent) - Pets - Cats (Alias:subfolder-c-1) Pets
- - CERTC (Parent) - Pets - Dogs (Alias:subfolder-c-2) Pets
- - - CERTC (Parent) - Pets - Dogs - Dogs-German Shepherds (Alias:subfolder-c-2-1) Dogs

From my menu I would I would like to display three boxes (Employees, Training Classes) only
Presently all folder are displayed.
Once the person chooses the category by pressing on the box it would display the subfolder that has the photos.
As in pets you would have several lower levels to choose from.

The only way I think I could do this would to do the individual model and tie to a menu item.

Can you post the URL, because I can't really imagine the problem.

I think I answered my own question. What I was attempting to do was something that the program was designed to do.
I made menu items with:
List Of Categories (Categories View) it displayed all my categories as it is designed to do.
List of Images (Category View) it displays all my individual categories as it is designed to.

A better question should have been.
Through Joomla how to set up the following.
A process for the web members to choose a category or sub-category to display the List of Images (Category View
Maybe through an article or menus and submenus any suggestions?

Photos
-----Training Classes
----------Class A 02/03/2024 List of Images (Category View)
----------Class B 02/13/202 List of Images (Category View)
----------Class C 02/24/2024 List of Images (Category View)

Thanks for putting up with me.

Hi, regarding menu items, try to see this:
https://www.phoca.cz/blog/1230-how-to-c ... -in-joomla

Always try to create only one menu link in tree and if needed, then absolute link for different parts.
