Phoca Gallery requiring login

Folks, this question has been raised many times over the years, but none of the suggestions are working. I'm accessing the gallery straight from the Home Menu, not within an article. The menu item is public and points to index.php?option=com_phocagallery&view=user. The gallery has one category, which is public. It contains one image, which is published and authorized.

So what is left that could be causing that menu item to request login?

It depends which menu type you choose:



For example, “User Control Panel” logs in: as registered user to be able to upload images in Frontend.

Thank you, Christine. Is that in the docs anywhere?? I sure missed it. Switching to image view fixed it.
