Hi,
the downshifting of the pictures could be because of the margin around the image tag in your template. Check if it's with rhuk_milkyway (standard Joomla! template) a problem too.
For the colours: check out in your menu item if the text boxes are empty in 'component parameter'. If they're not (and you're running v2.1.0 RC) please empty them. If you're using an older version you must change the colours there.
I hope it's clear,
Good luck,
Carolien

Re: Layout Issues
Hi,
this is most likely an issue with <div> somewhere on the page with a 'clear:both' setting. Could be in the contentpane or in left/right module positions.
Normally you see this in components and template combinations where usually the component doesn't have enough styling but instead relies on the template to fix things. And to repeat the reply before mine. "Try to use another template" - (for testing) and see if it goes away.
If you can't solve this yourself (some PHP and CSS knowledge necessary) or if your template provider can't help you, it's not likely this forum will be able to provide a solution either. Simply because these kind of problems are so individual that you have to dive into the page/code properly, preferably on a local machine.
Hope you manage.
Regards
Akerman
