Adding images to an existing category

I want to know the best way to add images to an existing category. When I start a new category I usually FTP images, and then do a Multiple Add, ticking the folder name and choosing a category. If I do this for new photos in an existing gallery I end up with a SECOND folder of images, with all the images in. This is not really what i want, so how should I be doing this?

Hi,

Upload them by FTP, go to multiple add.
Click on the folder (so you see the images)
then select the images you want, by ticking them.
If you want to select all of them, tick the top box.
Above select the category you want them in and select save.

That's great, thanks.
Now i need to know how to remove the second folder i accidently created by selecting the whole folder for the multiple add, not just the new pictures....if i delete them via the "images" tab, won't i delete the actual images from the folder? i just want to get rid of the "link" to these images from the wrong category.

Hi,

this folder is also a category now. When you go to the categories tab you can delete the wrong created category.

And if you delete the images from the images tab, you don't delete the images on the server, you only delete the link of the image to the category. And depending on your settings the thumbnails will be deleted or not.
