List categories shows all album instead of subcategories

I'm using Joomla 3.3.6 with Phoca gallery 4.1.2, recently updated to the new Joomla version. I have several photalbums and one of them uses categorie view.

I've created a categorie called 2011 Zuid Oost Amerika and added subcategories to it with the specific date. The pictures are uploaded to the subcategories, the main categorie does not hold any pictures.

The album with the problem: Photo album. It should only show the subcategories with dates of september 2011 but all the categories are there. How can I change the settings that it only shows the subcategories?

PS I've looked through the documentation but couldn't find anything.

Create a different menu item to Phoca Gallery Component ( change it from List of Categories to List of Images ) and choose 2011 Zuid Oost Amerika as category.
