IOS _ _ & _ _ Image Uploading not usable

There are other threads on this topic however nothing has ever been solved.

_ _ & _ _ users cannot upload more then one file due to image name problems with the IOS. In addition, you cannot upload any image that has the same name as an image already loaded.

iPhones & _ _'s are here to stay and this problem has been addressed for over 2 years now in the forums without resolution. Phoca Gallery needs an option to rename images automatically when uploaded.

Phoca response to this in the past has stated that this is not a Phoca Gallery problem but an IOS problem. I agree with this however you have stated that Phoca Download has this functionality and users have even given the code to hack the Gallery to make it do this. Why have you not added it to Phoca Gallery release and solve the problem once and for all.

I cannot locate another Joomla Gallery Component hat fits all of our needs other than Phoca and because of this once issue I cannot use the Phoca Gallery as the website owners are _ _ & _ _ users.

Hi, sorry, not sure which issue you mean (I am sorry but I have over thousands of feature requests of my list so it is hard to know the details of all of them).

The problem is, Joomla! and world is changing a lot so priority is to make the component even working, then the security problems and then the other features.

But please let me know some links to the forum problems so I can take a look at it - if this was somehow solved or still if it is waiting

I'm not able to fix it myself, but I have the same issue - even when uploading single photos from _ _/_ _, as photo number 2 (second single photo uploaded) will fail, as the file name already exists.

Hi, as written above, we need someone with experiences with i_Phone/i_Pad. I unfortunately don't have any experiences with this devices and really no idea why they behave different to standard any why they do it (why they change your filename to other name). Does anybody even ask IOS developers why there is used such confusing Output?

Solving this in code can be really dangerous for the memory, see:

- you will test the filename.zip if it exists, if yes, you will add filename1.zip and then you need to test it again and if the filename2.zip exists, you need to test it again for filename3.zip, etc.

So if there are e.g. over 1000 files, you should do 1000 tests for the right name before be able to upload - so this can slow down or making down the server
