Joomla 4.0

Post by jrjr » 08 Feb 2021, 18:31

I recently updated to the 3.10.0 alpha to test it out and later I will update to the 4.0 Beta. This is on a test site. I am currently on 3.10.0. Add to cart does not seem to work unless logged into the site. Not a biggie. Will it work at all on 4.0? Just curious before I do the update. Do you guys have Phoca Cart ready for 4.0 yet?
Also, on 3.10.0 it shows a Gantry 5 update available but won't install it. I get 'Invalid extension update' when I try. I am using the Phoca Premiere template.

Hi, Joomla! 4 is now in Beta phase (even there was huge change from BS4 to BS5 which usually happens in Alpha), so it can take half year or one year when it will be stable.

All Phoca extensions are overwritten step by step to be ready for Joomla! 4 but this take some time. Even I have tested Phoca Cart on Joomla! 4, it is still not ready. For now I am working on Phoca Gallery for Joomla! 4 and then I will take a look at Phoca Cart.

It is now at Beta 7. I read it was possibly going to be released in March as a release candidate. Guess it's not worth the effort to try it on Phoca at this point. Thanks Jan!

Hi, yes, for now only Phoca Email, Phoca Top Menu module and Phoca Filter Options plugin are ready for Joomla! 4, it does not make any sense to test others.
